My obsession with SEO started in 2012 when the potential for growth that quality SEO offers became all too clear. After I took his first steps into the world of eCommerce as a reseller of gym equipment, I quickly learned that organic search was and still is the main driver of targeted traffic to the vast majority of websites, way beyond paid advertising. By quickly learning the basics of site architecture, keyword optimisation, and topical relevance, the results started speaking for themselves with the gym equipment Website starting to rank at the top of the SERPs for a wide range of highly competitive search terms, against some very large, established, and very well known companies (including Amazon). Working with the most popular platforms & content management systems Throughout the years I've tried out and optimised many of the most popular CMS on the market, including: WordPress Shopify Bigcommerce Magento Squarespace Wix And whilst all have their pros and cons, without a doubt, my chosen platforms are WordPress for service-based businesses and Shopify for eComm businesses, for the simple reason that both are intuitive, easy to optimise, established, well-developed, they're constantly evolving into better versions of themselves and most importantly very well supported. In fact, I use both WordPress and Shopify exclusively for all of my personal projects and test sites. And just so you're aware, I test all best practices and theories on my test sites to see what actually works and what doesn't. Selling on Amazon My journey hasn't stopped with SEO alone, as I've also been selling on the Amazon marketplace with my own private label products since 2015. This includes everything to do with optimising Amazon listings to help the products rank highly in Amazon's search engine.
